The World is in Shock

The World is in Shock. This is a sea change of things for all whether anyone on earth realizes it or not. There are only two American elections that I can remember that compare to this one. The first is Truman stepping down for President Eisenhower which reminds me in some way of this change. Truman in this case being similar to President Bush's present state. And the other would be, of course, President Kennedy when he was elected around the same age as Obama is now.

I'm not sure this has all sunk in for most people as to how great a change worldwide this is. Think about this. If an African American can be president of the United States then there is no race or nationality or gender that cannot become President of the United States in the future. As long as it is a native born son or daughter, a president could be Asian, Middle Eastern, Hispanic, Jewish, you name it and of any gender. There really is no real limitation to becoming president now. As long as someone was born here and is qualified, he or she could become president.

The world has changed in a way most of us never thought could happen in our lifetimes. But it did!
