Syrian Troops Storm Town, mass grave found

Syria troops storm town with helicopters; mass grave found
DAMASCUS (AFP) – Syrian troops on Sunday fought violent battles with "armed gangs" in flashpoint Jisr al-Shughur town, state television said, as international outrage mounted at the regime's harsh crackdown on protesters.
Syria's official media also reported that a mass grave was found in Jisr al-Shughur, allegedly containing the bodies of security agents killed by the gangs.
Rights activists reported heavy gunfire and explosions in the northwestern town near the Turkish border after troops backed by helicopter gunships and around 200 tanks launched a two-pronged assault early on Sunday.
"Army divisions entered Jisr al-Shughur and purged the state hospital of armed groups," the television said.
"Violent clashes pitched the army divisions against armed groups positioned inside and around the town," it added.
The army entered the town "after defusing dynamite placed on the bridges and roads by the armed groups," the report said, adding that "two armed men were killed and many more arrested, with machine guns also seized."
A mass grave was discovered in Jisr al-Shughur containing the bodies of security agents from the city's police headquarters, the television later said, without specifying the number of bodies.
"Armed groups had mutilated the corpses which were removed from the mass grave," it added. end quote.

For those of you who might not understand why the Syrian Government is continuing to massacre whole towns of people this also happened with Assad's father in the 1980s when he massacred over 40,000 people in Syria to quell unrest.

The real problem (within Syria) is that a Shiite minority rules the Sunni majority. So the Shiite ruling minority is worried that if they cannot suppress the Sunni majority by Any means possible that their whole Shiite Minority will be massacred eventually by the Sunni majority. However, because of worldwide social media, the Shiite minority is likely eventually to be massacred because of so many Sunni Towns being massacred and burnt to the ground. It is likely inevitable during these times that the Syrian Government will fall. But it is worse than that. This Shiite massacring Sunni will not sit well with Sunni nations like Saudi Arabia, Egypt and others in the area. Turkey also now is upset. And to make matters worse Iran has sent Hezbollah snipers in to kill the Sunni Majority civilians in these areas. So, this is turning very quickly into a Shiite versus Sunni War which could engulf the whole middle east starting in Syria.

To make matters worse if Iran(Shiite) and Saudi Arabia(Sunni) go at it directly or indirectly it likely would temporarily at least collapse the world economy because this would end Saudi and Iranian oil during this event. This would in turn cause worldwide famines (because food could not be transported because of no oil at any reasonable price and set off problems in around 50% of the nations on earth who don't have access to other types of easily attainable energy sources. Europe and North America would have less problems that most other areas. But because it would tend to collapse the world economy we could be witnessing the beginning of a war situation that could draw in all developed nations especially NATO and the G-20 nations. This is an extremely serious situation and no matter how it is handled it could spell at the very least serious economic chaos for the whole world.
