The Winds and the Rest

As an intuitive I have written in articles and blogs about what I see coming in the future. Mostly what I saw is that people were not prepared for the winds which would be coming much more regularly at over 100 miles per hour worldwide. However, when I look into the future now something has changed and it isn't just the winds over 100 miles per hour that people aren't prepared for during the rest of this century and beyond. It is now just how extremely fast weather conditions can change anywhere on earth now.

I had naively expected that one would be able to predict the winds that come in various forms from Hurricanes, to snow storms to winds caused by the radiating heat off the parched earth in extreme droughts. But I didn't consider just how extreme the weather changes could be in any given 24 hour period. It reminds me of a time in the 1980s when I was walking with friends in about 75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the late summer or early fall at about 10,000 feet. My older children then were between ages 5 and 8 years of age, when suddenly the weather changed and it started to snow. But we didn't have jackets for us or the children because the day had been very hot and this was completely unexpected. We were three or more miles from our 4 wheel drive truck near Clear Creek and we realized because of the kids we were in trouble because we only could carry two of the kids to safety. The oldest aged 8 started to cry because we were all slipping and falling into the snow. But as adults and outdoors people all we could do was to be very verbally stern with the 8 year old because he was going to have to get out of there under his own power. It was a survival experience for all of us. To make a long story short we all made it to the 4 wheel drive truck without getting frostbite or the hypothermia causing us to hallucinate that much so we all took care of each other and survived.

However, any mountaineer knows that high mountains often make their own weather and sometimes this kind of thing happens. But as we have now seen just in the last week in Thailand and this last Halloween "Trick or Treat" storm that dropped up to 30 inches of snow and cut off power to over 3 million people on the east coast and in several states Halloween festivities had to be cancelled as a result, this same kind of mountain weather scenario can now happen anywhere and anytime. So, even if it is a hot day be sure to take a jacket and water and a protein bar so you are prepared for anything. And even if it is now snowing be prepared for 80 plus degree weather on a fluke. Almost anything can happen anywhere now on earth so be prepared.
