Before you go to "Dark Shadows" just remember this isn't "Young Frankenstein" where everything is just so ridiculous that you are laughing and falling out of your chair. At least for me, I could relate quite well to every main character in the movie and found them all to be incredibly pathetic and so I found myself feeling really sad for every main character in the movie. So, even though it is incredibly funny I also was feeling kind of sick inside for every main character. So, it is kind of hard to cheer for so very many antiheroes. But since they all are antiheroes they are kind of all in the same class of being.
And once you get into this movie it is very rich in multilayered comedy done to perfection by actors such as Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer.
But don't forget before you take someone squeamish to a movie like this because it is both serious and funny at the same time and many people die during this movie so be prepared for that. Because this is a very creepy but funny movie
But if you watched "Dark Shadows" in the 1970s as a soap opera on TV you might have a good experience and also a lot of 1970s pop hits music wise are played throughout the movie. So, in this sense it kind of can be a walk down memory lane for people old enough to remember the 1970s in real life.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
