What does Local on the 8s mean?

What does "Local on the 8's" mean when they say it on the Weather ...

Top answer: they report the local weather when the time ends with an 8. for example... 1:08 1:18 1:28 and so on and so forth. not every 8 minutes.

So basically it means that every time the minute hand says 8 during any one hour you will get the major weather for the whole country visually for most big cities with maps of weather for the whole country before they do something else. (At least while you are watching the Weather Channel).

So basically it is every 10 minutes starting with :08, :18, :28,:38,:48, :58 every hour.
