This is going to change things a lot in the U.S. Military. First being gay or lesbian now is okay in the military. And now, women can serve in combat (with reservations) which means that if women are not physically strong enough or fast enough runners to survive certain types of training they will not be included in those types of combat at least initially as of now.

But another change this creates is that only through combat usually do officers increase their rank very fast. So, up until now this has prevented many women officers from becoming Admirals or Generals as a direct result. So, this likely is the primary reason women in combat is being allowed now so women have the right to gain rank like men.

However, this might also mean that in the event of an all out war girls as young as 18 might be drafted. Since this is a completely ridiculous notion to almost anyone in the U.S., the likelihood that that would be allowed is close to zero by the populace in general. So, as a result maybe we won't ever be in an all out war ever again except with drones, robots, cruise missiles and other robotic and computerized warfare. So, this is another thing to actually think about as well. It is likely that human soldiers will be less used in actions and drones on, air, land and sea will be used more instead over time by all nations in formal warfare worldwide. However, this too brings up many new issues not only here but also abroad for everyone to think about.

I think the most serious issue to deal with is "How does the world avoid Nuclear Annihilation of all civilization or even the planet itself?"

If this question isn't asked by all of humanity none of these other issues will be important because there will not be a planet left to worry about.
