One of the Keys to Compassion

If you have studied psychology or spirit this might make some sense to you.

I have discovered in the early 1980s that compassion is the true spiritual key to enlightenment.

So, how does one develop compassion rather than being paranoid and fearful of others all the time.

One starts with self. One cannot be compassionate to others and mentally and emotionally healthy without starting compassion for oneself. Once one develops compassion for oneself and becomes a friend to oneself, then one can develop compassion for all other beings.

But first one must overcome self loathing which often is conditioned by parents, friends, teachers, employers, in life from cradle to the grave. One cannot be healthy and untwist themselves without getting over self loathing.

So, how does one get over self loathing?

Self acceptance.

So, here is one method.

Imagine your mother in the form of God saying to you. "I love you. I love you. I love you."

and continuing saying this to you. Take this love from yourself to yourself deep down into your subconscious mind touching the 2 year old within each of us. Keep doing this in full feeling as if you were your own child and you were healing this child. As your subconscious 2 year old feels loved deeply and parented now by you, slowly and surely you become capable of compassion for all living beings in the universe including yourself.
