Al Qaeda and Syrian Government in Cahoots?

A PBS Newshour reporter in Switzerland reported today that it appears that Al Qaeda and the Syrian Government have made some kind of deal because the Syrian government refuses to bomb wherever Al Qaeda is resident. Also, Al Qaeda is now partly financed by Syrian Oil Wells that they now control in the north of Syria. So, it is beginning to make more sense that regular Syrian Rebels would be fighting against Al Qaeda and other Islamics because of the deal obviously made between Al Qaeda and the Assad Syrian Government not to bomb wherever Al Qaeda is stationed. I think we may hear more about this in the future regarding Syria.

This news is reported from Switzerland by a PBS Newshour report today on January 23rd 2014.

My thoughts on this are as follows. I had been wondering for a few months why Assad was allowing Al Qaeda to have the oil wells. Now this all makes more sense. So, Assad is only killing political rivals who are actually Syrians who want him to leave the government.

Also, Al Qaeda will likely have to be dealt with eventually by a coalition of Israel, Europe, Russia, the U.S. , Canada and the rest of the free world if the world does not want a permanent state of Al Qaeda in northern Syria and Western IRaq near Fallujah. It might also be important to note that the terrorists that blew up the bus and the train station in Volgograd are also indirectly aligned with Al Qaeda in Syria and some of them even fight with Al Qaeda in Syria. So, Al Qaeda though Assad seems to have made a deal with them the rest of the world including Iraq are going to have problems ongoing until a NATO and Russian force go into the area to rid the area of Al Qaeda sometime in the near or far future.

However, in the meantime this Proxy war because of it's Cold War nature at core will interfere with that happening.
