Feeling Free

Feeling Free is necessary to actually be Free anywhere on earth. Some people aren't free even when born in the U.S. with everything because they don't feel free. And some people in prison are free even if they will be there the rest of their lives.

So, feeling free is the basis of being free not governments, not laws. Freedom is a state of being not relegated to any country or place in the universe.

I think for me feeling free first started when I was given a bicycle at age 5. I don't think I really felt free before that. But, there was something about my father saying, "Here is your bicycle and here is a block of wood that you can stand on to get it moving". And then my father just let me ride away anywhere I wanted to starting at age 5.

Someone like Nelson Mandela was free his whole life whether he was in prison or not because he felt free wherever he was in his heart. Whether you agree with Mandela or not it should be obvious to you that this man was always free whether he lived or died or wherever he was.

Why is freedom important? Because without feeling free we will never be able to be who we really are. If we don't feel free we will only be prisoners in our own minds.

Freedom is necessary for the human race to move forwards and not just go sideways or backwards. And the problems with privacy worldwide are a threat to the continued freedom of mankind and technological thought reading devices will completely destroy people's capabilities to be free if misused.

So, here on the Earth (once again?) we may be dealing with future societies where the only way to be free would be to leave this planet and colonize another planet without the  mind reading technology presently being developed on earth.

This is something for all of us to think deep and long about.
