Other Toxic Spills into water around the world

I was remembering something bad happening in China regarding a toxic water spill affecting hundreds of millions of people there. So, I put into Yahoo "world toxic water spills" or something like that and this is what came up:

I was listening to Jon Stewart talk about how the chemical storage area was upriver from the water treatment area and how insane that was. But, often when things like this happen things have just been this way possibly since the 1920s, 30s or 1950s and that the water treatment plant likely was an afterthought and just built where it was for convenience. Likely no one even thought about a chemical storage facility being upstream.

So, all around the world hopefully people begin to see proximity is everything in something like this.

Chemicals "SHOULD NOT BE STORED" upstream from water treatment plants when people have to drink or bathe in that water at some point. Chemical Storage areas should be shut down and moved to another location "BELOW" where water treatment is done or we will see this same thing repeated year after year worldwide in all sorts of countries. When you tempt fate long enough bad things almost always happen.

It's sort of like having a friend who juggles knives or something sooner or later someone is going to get cut or even die. The same is true regarding proximity of stored chemicals to drinking water upstream.
