China being China

Activism in Taiwan

If you read the above article you can see how blackballing the group "Mayday" out of Taiwan, the government and clout of the government directed opinions through the media control Taiwans slow return to the mainland. The clout of China in regard to Taiwan and probably soon Japan is what is worrying countries like Japan. Taiwan seems to be willing to make trade agreements with China rather than be blown out of the water as a country in reality which is logical. The U.S. might not be counted on if China actually attacked Taiwan in this era. It's really hard to say.

The world after all has changed a lot since World war II which is worrying likely Japan much more than Taiwan because in the end Taiwan's culture is much closer to the the mainland that Japan's is.

Japan has a good relationship with the U.S. However, Japan's relationship to countries like South Korea and China is historically bad which makes Japan sort of problematic for the U.S. if things really heat up with China and Japan.

So, what will the future bring? Since China doesn't have a lot of good will from Pacific Ocean nations in general they don't have a lot of ties to ports of call throughout the Pacific. So, other than the U.S. as a very good trading partner since the 1970s with Kissenger and Nixon leading the way, only the U.S. is a really good trading partner to China in the Pacific Arena. But it might also be important to say that the U.S. did this in order to be less likely to have a nuclear war eventually with China.

One of the advantages to the U.S. in all this is that China can barely govern China because it is just so big and unwieldy. It has always been very topheavy and unmanagable because of so many people and land under the same government. So, it is very easy to understand why human rights and life itself has always been at such a low priority for thousands of years now. Though China blusters and makes waves likely it will never really be in it's interests to take over other nations around the world without economically collapsing or having it's government collapse at home because it is just too unwieldy to be successful at conquering other nations ever. IF it actually put the effort into conquering another larger nation the Chinese government soon would falter and be gone for many reasons.
