Pro-Russian activists have broken into the regional administration building in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk.
Reports from the scene suggest about 50 people broke away from about 2,000 demonstrators at a rally in the main square of the city.
Hundreds of police are reported to have been guarding the building but the activists got through the cordon and raised Russian flags from the roof.
Donetsk has seen several similar protests since pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted and the annexation of Crimea by Moscow.
Martine Croxall reports.
