Which is safer in the U.S. a gun or a car? answer: a gun

Which is safer a gun or a car? A gun is much safer than a car contrary to popular belief.

If you look at how many people die from cars versus how many die from guns you can see what I mean.

Owning and driving a car or truck and driving it regularly is like owning an AK-47 assault rifle. In fact, any car or truck is much more potentially lethal than any gun is.

If you look at the facts below it is 358 by rifle murdered and around 2000 murdered by pistol. (The other approximately 4000 people die from suicide by pistol). This is per year.

However, in the same year 40,000 people die in car and truck accidents on the road. So, which is the more lethal weapon in reality?

quote from wikipedia:
In 2010, 358 murders were reported involving a rifle while 6,009 were reported involving a handgun; another 1,939 were reported with an unspecified type of firearm. end quote from:

Wikipedia
Two-thirds of all gun-related deaths in the U.S. are suicides. ...... Also, the number of handguns used in crime (approximately 7,500 per year) is very small ...

Whereas car crashes kill 40,000 people a year. Also, 2/3 of the people dying from handguns are suicides so that means that of the 6009 people killed around 4000 were suicides and only 2000 approximately were murders.

So, if we are talking murders only 358 murders with rifles and 2000 approximate murders using handguns compared to 40,000 people dying from cars and trucks.

Which is more dangerous? You have to say cars and trucks are much more lethal in the U.S.

A full passenger planeload of people die in car crashes every day of the year.

Compare that to 1 person a day with a rifle or 5.4 or about a carload of people murdered by a handgun.

Which one needs a whole lot more attention paid to it to make it safer? the answer of course is both but the car is the more dangerous of the two weapons like it's an automatic AK-47. So, the next time you drive your car down the road remember it is like an AK-47 in lethality.

It is interesting to know that people die more in car accidents as compare to guns. We all should follow the traffic rules and also take training of driving from experts. But guns should not be take lightly. Good safety should be taken while using a gun.
