The Arctic in regard to terraforming

This would be debatable of course because Canada, Russia and Mongolia are going to be the countries that most benefit from Global Warming (and Alaska in the U.S. too).

As permafrost melts in the northern regions of the planet and in the southern in Antarctica you are going to see especially in the arctic (because of Russia, Alaska and Canada being there) Shipping, fishing and searching for oil increasing there over time.

However, if we want to lower the temperatures one of the many ways to do this is to find something to reflect back to the sun that is white like Ice to reduce the heating of the oceans in the arctic so quickly.

Because the quicker it heats up there, the more people are going to be dying around the equator. Heat indexes of 145 to 165 degrees were experienced by people in India and Pakistan this summer because of the combination of high heat along with extreme humidity. Humans cannot survive these temperatures out in the open without air conditioning or jumping into water or putting ice in their hats or something like this. So, as temperatures continue to increase in equatorial regions more people are likely to die in the heat there.

One of the ways to reduce the raise in temperatures would be to put something in Arctic waters to reflect back the suns rays so the ocean temperatures didn't rise so quickly.

Another reason you don't want ocean temperatures to rise too quickly is storms. If the arctic ocean temperatures rise too quickly and all the ice is gone for one or two months (this might already be happening) it is sort of like when you have a drink with ice in it on a summer day and you will notice when the last piece of ice melts in your drink how quick the fluid left gets hot. The same thing will naturally happen not only in the arctic but wherever waters are blue and not white from ice.

Blue is much closer to black in color and when darker colors are there they absorb the heat from the sun whereas the ice reflects the sun back into space instead. So, as heat is absorbed more and more by blue water the whole planet's ecosystem changes and hurricanes and evaporation increases exponentially. This then changes weather patterns and some places get more rain and flood and other places like California get no rain and go into 100 to 500 year droughts like we are presently experiencing. But, hopefully this will change soon.

However, mitigating the increase in temperatures would be to put white objects that float in the arctic to cut down on absorbing so much heat. If these white objects that float could prevent the warming of the arctic and also not obstruct shipping this might be good. Also, floating objects might help polar bears not go extinct as well as other arctic based animals and fish and aquatic life.
