spiritual but not religious growing in the U.S.

Why is this?

I think being inside a Church isn't what it used to be. More people now want to experience God personally and not through a minister. They want to be free to experience God anytime and anywhere in all situations. Or if they don't believe in God and might be Buddhist they want to experience compassion for all life in the universe all the time not just Sundays while they are in Church.

Being Spiritual but not religious just usually means they want to experience spirituality all the time and not be hypocrites by only experiencing God in Church and not thinking about God the rest of the week or not thinking about being compassionate to themselves and all beings 24 hours a day 7 days a week in their lives.

It's about being real rather than having fake lives.

It's about being honest with yourself and others (at least as much as one can survive on a daily basis).
