95 degrees Fahrenheit with 77 degrees at 10 pm last night on the Northern California Coast near San Francisco

This is a completely unheard of temperature for where I live. I have lived here (in this area since at least 1994 and within 20 miles of here since 1992 and there has never been a temperature day or night as high as these in 20 years that I can remember (however, I travel a lot too).

But, the highest temperature that I can remember in the daytime in all these years before this was about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. So, once again global warming has struck us here.

Now since the heat yesterday there is a new fire because of the heat and likely the winds too in the Santa Cruz Mountains. So far the smoke hasn't come to the beach where I live but because of shifting wind patterns that likely is only a matter of time. Hopefully, they can get it out today before it gets much beyond the 1000 acres burned that they expect this morning. The fire tankers are flying over and delivering fire retardant and water since they can after sunup and were until sundown yesterday. So, we will see what happens. The Soberanes Fire is still going further south in Ventana Wilderness south of Big Sur now since late July. The main problem with the Soberanes fire is it is now in wilderness areas where roads are not allowed to be built. This means that only fire crews on foot and fire tankers and helicopter tankers are the only thing allowed in there now.
