In the 90s Fahrenheit in Santa Barbara

And in the 100s throughout Los Angeles and Orange county today. As we traveled north on 101 from Santa Barbara I thought back to me walking on East Beach near the volleyball courts there towards the cliffs. I was cool enough taking my crocs off and walking in the water in bermuda shorts along the beach but when I tried to walk from the beach to the parking lot it was like walking through the Gobi Desert in the summer and people barefoot were putting back on their sandals and shoes rather than burn their feet on the beach sand. It was 100 or more a lot of the way north on 101 inland from Santa Barbara especially Paso Robles and north of there. When we finally got to the beach where we live near the San Francisco greater area, I realized it was also going to be 93 where I live on the ocean as well tomorrow which was quite a shock to me because this will be the highest temperature in the last year there.

As I write this it is still 80 degrees at 11 pm in places like Orange and Paso Robles and 67 degrees where I live. And when I think about how the fog was here basically since June pretty much until a couple of weeks ago now with high temperatures mostly around 60 with temperatures more of the time in the 50s this is quite a change for us here. No one has an air conditioner where I live on the coast because mostly people might only need it 1 or 2 days a year. Tomorrow is that day this year.
tomorrow
Poway 101
encinitas 97
Orange 108
Santa Barbara 95
Studio city, Los Angeles 104
Paso Robles 106
Morgan Hill 98
Sacramento 99
Redding California 100

So, this might well be one of the hottest days this year in California generally speaking
even though Palm Springs is starting to cool down for the year at

101 degrees

The hottest temperature this summer was in Mitribah, Kuwait at 129.2 degrees which if verified on July 22 2016 is the hottest temperature every recorded outside of Death Valley, California on Earth.

I have been in 117 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit and over that a couple of times. When you get out of a vehicle or home it is like stepping into an oven. If there is any humidity at all over about 115 likely you would die soon so remember that if the temperatures are high on a very humid day. That's when people die the most from the heat worldwide. But, if the temperatures are high enough even if it is dry you will die soon if you are left out in it.

Hopefully, more and more people will leave areas that will kill them or dig a hole to be in to stay cooler or something to stay alive. Most places under ground out of the sun might be 60 to 70 degrees and keep the air cool somewhat if the air isn't touched by sunlight. This is how mammals like Rabbits and mice around the world survive extreme heat too.
