Have you ever wondered why people over 30 to 40 years of age tend to be somewhat eccentric?

There is a reason for this. And it is the fact that by the time you are 30 years of age you are sure to have lost someone very close to you like a friend, relative, acquaintance etc.

And each person you lose is sort of like a part of you dying which could be equated to a certain level of PTSD. It doesn't necessarily mean you are walking down the street talking to yourself like a Viet Nam, Afghanistan or IRaq War veteran. But, it does mean you have faced the death of a relationship.

Breaking up with a significant other that you felt you couldn't live without is another cause of people's eccentricities. Eccentricities come usually from losses we cannot fathom or were beyond our ability to fully cope with.

And if you are over 30 to 40 you have already had to cope with many deaths of friends and relatives worldwide and breakups with people that were significant others.

And all this changes you in unfathomable ways.

The best way to say this is people are either "Survivors" or they are not. Those still growing strong at my age now 68 have had to survive unimaginable things to most children and young adults.

So, this is one reason to have respect for people over 30 to 40 years of age because they all have had to deal with things that younger people might not survive and sometimes don't when the time comes.

By God's Grace
