What Tolkien and AA Milne had in common

They both were in World War I. So, writing what they each did was a therapy for dealing with PTSD.

So, the marvelous works of the Tolkien Trilogy, the Sylmarian, Tom Bombadil, and the Hobbit as well as all the works of Christopher Robin all came from trying to stay alive after watching so many friends die in World War I.
