Star Wars: The Last Jedi (also known as Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi) is a 2017 American epic space opera film written and directed by Rian Johnson. It is the second installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, following Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).
I thought I was going to get to see the new Star Wars movie during the first week it was out but in reality that didn't happen for a variety of reasons. Tonight we saw Stars Wars: The Last Jedi in La Jolla (they have luxury theaters here that cost more but you can actually eat dinner in the theaters unlike most theaters up north where I live. However, as a senior My wife and I can each get in now for just over 7 dollars in the north but not here where tickets mostly cost around $15 dollars a pop for nighttime shows.
But, the main reason I started this article is that my son told me overseas he saw this movie and he thought it was too divisive. As a die hard Star Wars fan who saw in 1977 his first Star wars movie with me when he was only 3 at a drive in theater in Sunland in the los Angeles area I understand his point of view.

However, from my point of view what is actually happening is they are writing for not only the fans of the last 40 years now but also the fans of the next 50 years because Disney has bought the rights to Star Wars now ongoing and might pop one out every year or so now.

So, they are no longer just writing for fans of the last 40 years they are trying to bring in fans of the next 50 years too now. So, of course die hard fans are going to feel slighted by this movie. And the fans of the next 50 years are going to be wondering what is going on too because they are all now 4 to 20 years old or more. But, that is what is happening. They are repositioning for the next 50 years of Star Wars movies.

Hans Solo is gone as a character. Carrie Fisher is gone as a person. So, both of these two are already gone before this movie was released.

So, the franchise needs young blood so that is what all this is about. This is my view. So this is why they are going to introduce us to a really young Han Solo now likely and maybe that's who the little boy was at the end of this movie maybe.
