A friend just called me from Mt. Shasta and said it has been snowing there a lot including today. I thought I would check a weather radar to see more about this and was surprised to see possible rain on our way here as well out to sea right now. It's sunny here right now but then again that's kind of what it looks like just before it lets loose lately too (with rain like rivers off the roofs).
Also, it appears to be thunderstorms in Texas and Louisiana with the threat of more tornadoes too. So, the Atmospheric River is affecting us all in these ways right now.
