One thing about Cold Plunging
I have a friend who is 79 years old who in the 1970s and 1980s and maybe into the 1990s regularly did cold plunges in ice cold mountain lakes with ice on them often. This was just a part of his process along with organically grown food at the time. He still at 79 goes out and gathers firewood with his Stihl Chain Saw on a forest service permit and still uses a snow blower to clear his road to his land of snow. When I lived nearby him in the 1980s when I owned land out there at 4000 feet in the Mt. Shasta area he had a snow plow on his truck and kept the roads open even when the snow was 7 feet deep. I never thought this was cost effective myself simply because using a snow plow in that much snow is going to tear up your 4 wheel drive vehicle. So, instead of investing in a snow plow and winch for my 1974 IH Scout II I parked my 4 wheel drive as close as I could when there was too much snow (up to 1 to 2 miles away from our 2 1/2 acres and towed food and supplies on a bobsled while I, My wife and children all were on cross country skis. So, everyone in the family had their own cross country skis for this purpose and also for recreation and fun in the 7 feet of snow we often got then in the 1980s at 4000 feet.
Also, I built us an A-Frame so 7 feet of snow wouldn't collapse our roof like roofs collapsed in Mt. Shasta a lot in 1992 when 12 feet of snow fell in Town.
I hear that Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear are snowed in with up to 7 feet of new snow and it likely won't stop snowing there until around Wednesday or Wednesday night sometime.
