I heard this on CNN-TV while I was visiting Santa Barbara. A weather lady said that the average number of deaths in a single hurricane season (in the US)over the last 10? years is about 62. This year there have already been 95 and the season isn't even half over.
I guess the question has to be: Is this an anomaly or have we reached some new climate threshold? If the season is only half over do we expect 190 fatalities this year? What does this mean? Only time will tell. Is this a Katrina year for Tornadoes?
