This actually makes sense to me as I spent some time in the Hot Springs near Stanley, Idaho in the early 1980s. I was attending a gathering of Medicine Men and Women and Tribal Elders of various Native American Tribes then with family and friends. One of the Medicine Men introduced me to the Hot Springs which at that time were on a main road and free and all one had to do was to get out of their car, put a bathing suit on and jump in the moving rivers of hot water in various pools. So, when you have natural hot springs like this you have a similar situation in some respects to Old Faithful of Yellowstone where the lava must be very close to the surface to be heating the water this much. So the likelihood of a fault with a major quake like in the Yellowstone Caldera makes a lot of sense near Stanley, Idaho as well.
