U.S. energy consumption

Governments and private citizens of the world are trying to move toward renewables to reduce oil costs which will destroy most countries economically if they stay with oil. Here is the present breakdown of U.S. Energy consumption:

37% oil
25% gas
21% coal
  9% nuclear
  8% renewables

And here is a breakdown of the present (8%) renewables

35%hydropower(water powered generation of electricity)
24%wood
20%biofuels
  9%wind
  6%biomass waste
  5%geothermal
  1%solar


So, as you can see from these charts we still have a long long way to go to get to even 50% renewables.
