My parents, after surviving both the Great Depression and World War II needed something positive to think about, so they joined 'before I was born' a religion that promised them "You can live forever in a Golden Age". Whether they actually believed it or just wanted desperately to believe it I cannot say.(There is a distinct difference, by the way). So, there was always this rhetoric going on in the household of "You are an Ascended Master Youth and we are all going to live forever in a Golden Age!"
Between 6 and 10 years of age after attending public school my attitude was sort of cynical like, "Sure Mom, whatever you say." But when someone is programmed from infancy with this kind of stuff it is sort of like watching one too many Disney Cartoons from the 1930s to through the present, "You are sort of transported to a Fantasyland, which the real world and bullies and mean kids and teachers separate you from daily during the school year and after that at any job you work at.
So, when I first read about Ray Kurzweil and how he predicted the internet 20 years before it happened and now has predicted 2045 being the most likely year that this could happen according to algorithmic projections and pure intuition combined with scientific insight of a graduate from MIT and a friend of Bill Gates, I thought to myself, "So this is what my Mom and Dad were talking about! We are living in a technological golden age where people(with enough financial resources) might live indefinitely with their brains and body intact!" So, as soon as I found out about this I realized just how very important it was to relay this information to as many as possible. Because the more that believe it can happen, the more that will dedicate their lives and fortunes to actually making it happen. And when it does(sometime between now and 2050) being a human being will never be the same because some of us will never die. And that is saying something!
