What this money was spent on mostly was attack adds against the other Republican candidates running. For example, likely most of Restore Our Future's money above was spent on Attack adds against Gingrich.
I personally think that Super Pacs will destroy our democracy further and make sure the common people are removed more and more from the choice of candidates to the point where only rich kingmakers choose the candidates and people's votes in primaries in some ways now mean little to nothing as a direct result. And this problem is the Republicans problem this whole primary season and will likely mean Republicans won't be voting for the candidate they want to be voting for. But in the next election it will be the same problem for Democrats. So, it universally is only further degrading people's free choice of their candidates with only rich kingmakers in place to manipulate the public through adds during the primaries for presidential elections. You will also see this problem show up in congressional and senate elections as well and also see the candidates more and more reflect the wishes of only the richest of people and corporations with the common person's rights in choosing what public officials can and will run eroded more and more every year as long as the Super Pac law stands.
