What is Enlightenment?

Enlightenment is the absence of delusion. And most people's lives are filled with multiple variations of delusions even if they aren't aware of it at the time. So, because of this it is much more important to understand what is happening right now this moment than it is to know what you want to happen in the future. Because the future may never come for you. So, all you ever really have is right now this moment. So, always make the best of this moment right now. To constantly be waiting for delayed gratification may mean you never live one moment in your entire life. But by living each and every moment you never miss anything because you are living and enjoying every moment. And when you meet people living only in the future or the past and never in the moment an enlightened person often feels sad for those people. And sometimes might do something to help that person be more in the moment.

So, being here right now and understanding everything good and bad about that moment and being wise and yet compassionate and non-delusional about that moment is what it means to be enlightened. Sometimes, just being in every moment wherever you are can be the happiest series of moments in your life. It isn't about what is happening with you or to you necessarily at all. It is about Being here right now in earnest. And often doing that changes every succeeding moment in your lives and every other life to a very good moment for everyone on into infinity.
