The Refinement of Verbal Interfaces

Of Biocoms and Siri Clones

After I finished writing the above article that also contains quotes from one of my online mini-books or short stories (Memories is about 125 typewritten pages) as well as an article about the Intel's trying to interface with the human brain directly, I realized I had more to say about verbal interfaces.

Verbal interfaces will lead to thought interfaces through people who are paraplegic like Stephen Hawkins. I was watching his "Brave New World Series" last night and I think he is trying to prepare mankind for just how extreme the changes are that are coming. Because of his position as a paraplegic given some of the latest technology he knows firsthand how amazing the new changes that are coming. He is already testing thought actuated technology to help him in his life.

As technology interfaces more and more with us all (that choose to psychologically or technically interface with it) people are and will start to change more and more away from the way people were even here in the U.S. in the 1800s and 1900s. I was able to talk to people who had been born around the time of the Civil War in the early 1950s before they passed on in the 1950s and 1960s. And they were completely different than I was in my thinking. It was almost as if we were from slightly different planets. People I talked to had come west on covered wagons or trains or even on foot or horseback. That right there is enough to turn someone's head. I find the latest generations are more likely not to believe in God, for example, because they might not have suffered enough to need God yet. However, in my life I had had whooping cough by age 2, had all my front teeth pulled out by age 4 without novacaine, and had blunt trauma childhood epilepsy between the ages of 10 and 15. I needed God in my life even to psychologically survive all that. However, some young people haven't had really any of these things to deal with like I did or many of my generation did. So, they are just as different in their own ways as I was from people who I talked to that had come west in a covered wagon were from me.

So, young people are changing right before our eyes. They will tend to embrace all these technological changes both for better and for worse. They will both escape from the world through all these technological changes and they will also become the Stephen Jobs and the Bill Gates of the future. It will be both wonderful and terrible as life always is. So, it is up to each of us to try to make it more wonderful than terrible. This is all our duty no matter what age we are, not only for ourselves but for all the  generations yet unborn. This is our duty to make their lives as good or better than ours.

If you remember the first Star Wars movie that came out in 1977 "C3PO" said, "Oh Yes. I'm proficient in 80 to 90,000 languages" or something like that. With Siri and Siri type clones, we now have the ability to literally in a smartphone or other device some of the same capabilities of what C3PO was saying he could do. For example, here at Blogger.com where my site is based I can add a translator to my blog if I wish. The main reason I haven't done this yet is that often I write about spiritual things and those often don't translate right between languages. However, more technical things sometimes come out okay. So, I will have to think about putting a translator on my page more.

Here are a couple of the kinds of physiological and psychological changes that are either already here or are almost here depending upon your point of view. I wrote these two short stories as an intuitive partly so you could more easily see just a few of the coming changes.
2035 is about a boy named Silver who is born in the year 2000. So, of course when he becomes 35 years of age things really begin to change in him and around him because he is a genius a little like Thomas Edison by nature. Though he has to deal with a lot of things most of the rest of us don't have to in life, still he finds his way forward through it all, even if it is in an unorthodox way.

2037 is about genetic engineering in regard to red corpuscles and how a genetically engineered red corpuscle might make people live hundreds of years. It is about a Grandfather and his grandson and how they move into the future as potential cyborgs because of new red corpuscles genetically engineered by the grandfather who used to work for Apple Computer in the 1980s.

So, the two buttons in Blue above of 2035 and 2037 are short stories that deal with some of the problems and solutions of dealing with verbal interfaces and potential human immortality through genetic modifications of human bodies. The reason I'm writing this is that these things are already here. They are being perfected now as I write this. It is only a matter of time before almost perfect human verbal interfaces are perfected and it is likewise only a matter of time before people who have enough money don't ever have to die except by accident.
