The Big Dipper

My son said, "Hey Dad, Let's get in the hot tub outside." I was busy blogging and was going in another direction. But I said, "Okay. Give me 5 minutes to finish what I'm doing." So, as I changed and walked outside with a bottle of water to drink to stay hydrated in the Hot Tub and a towel (to stay warm while getting out of the hot tub when the air is cold on the way to the house).

But, when I went outside I was amazed because the stars were all out, which is always amazing because there are no street lights where I live purposefully, so people can actually see the stars here near the beach where I live. But, most of the time, it is overcast at night either from the fog that comes in off of the Pacific Ocean or just high fog or clouds. So, whenever it is clear at night it is really a treat because we are far enough away from any city lights to see not only "The Big Dipper" but also the Milky Way. So, this was one of those nights. As my son talked to me about what he needed to talk to me about I saw several shooting stars mostly out to sea. However, one of these was moving slow and stopped sort of and yet I could still see it which I thought was kind of strange. Then about ten minutes later the glow started to move again and I wondered whether the shooting star was a UFO or something unusual like that.
