Basically Iran has declared war on the Sunni Muslims in Syria and by doing so has declared war on all Sunni Muslims everywhere. This is not a good thing for oil prices and the world in general because how long will it be before Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey and other Sunni Muslim nations send their armies into Syria too?
For those of you who might not know this, Iran is Shia Muslim and Assad is Alawite Shia Muslim but Syria is majority Sunni Muslim just like Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and several other countries. The only countries that are Shia Muslim majority are Iran, Iraq and Syria. So, as you can see this could get much more serious than it already has. And Lebanon is now being torn apart by this because I believe Lebanon is both Sunni and Shia and I'm not sure if there is a majority of either or if so by how much. Also, there are many Christians and other religious minorities in Lebanon as well. So, what is happening in Syria is spilling over into Lebanon right now.
