After listening carefully to meteorologists at the Weather
channel I realized that they were right. This weather event won't be Katrina, it will likely be worse. But not in wind. It will be worse in water. The First problem is the storm surge which will last a very long time after it hits depending upon the high or low tides. The second problem is the sea water has nothing to stop it traveling far up the Mississippi River in the Storm Surge because the Mississippi river is almost dry this year. So, just the storm surge could be a disaster in itself. Second they are talking about 20 inches of rain. Now, I don't know if you have ever seen 20 inches of rain and what that can do but I would say I never want to see that on one day or ever even during 5 days that could be a real disaster. Then they were talking about the amount of rain is double what the levee pumps in New Orleans could actually pump out of New Orleans as it fell out of the sky. So, even the rain in New Orleans is a threat in itself to the lowest lying areas. When you put all of this together it appears almost everyone should be evacuating that area right now. Not evacuating because of a hurricane but evacuating a Noah's Ark kind of event where the best way to ride it out might be in a boat or ship like an Ark!
