A White Man Can Kill a Black man and get Away with it?

This does appear to be true in "Stand Your Ground" states. And likely a statistical analysis of the ratio of whites to blacks going to jail for the same types of crimes might put more light on all this state by state. (In other words when a white person is accused of a certain crime and a black person is accused of a certain crime what is the ratio of whites versus blacks going to jail under these circumstances by State). This might shed some light on the problem the nation sees in the Zimmerman Verdict in Florida to see if it is an anomaly or whether this is true across the board in "STand Your Ground States" or whether this is only a fluke case.

I think even though civil rights laws have been passed long ago and voting laws have been reinforced and blacks get scholarships and student loans to prestigious and all institutions of higher learning for some time now, this has nothing to do with how often whites and blacks will be accused or convicted of the same crimes nationwide. So, even though there are more educational and economic opportunities for African American men and women it may be that without the right "To stay alive" when needing to protect themselves not only physically but in a court of law, full equality has not been achieved yet.
