The Problem with Drunk Drivers

The problem with Drunk Drivers is a few of them are using their vehicles like a weapon. We ran across someone like this today. The first sign of something being wrong was 1/4 mile ahead of us on Interstate 5 when it looked like an accident just happened or almost happened. Brake lights went on and everyone slowed down about 20 miles per hour suddenly. As we grew closer we could see a pickup truck loaded with furniture weaving crazily in the fast lane. My wife was driving and so I said to her, "You either need to be way in front of this guy or way behind him, he's going to kill someone the way he is driving." But this wasn't the end of it. I had her get into the slow lane 2 lanes away from him and still it looked like he was trying to drive people sideways off the road. Finally, my wife got ahead of him and she said, "He's smiling. He's really scaring me." Soon she had to accelerate because he was coming up behind her at about 90 to 95 miles per hour. At this point she began to get hysterical and had an asthma attack. She got so upset she called 911. They told us at least 12 other people had called about this person too. Then we all came upon an accident and my wife was upset because at first the police didn't stop the pickup truck. But then we saw one officer in a white patrol car took off after him. As we drove by the officer was holding his sidearm as he carefully walked up beside the driver of the pickup truck. That was the end of it for us. What a really scary time for my wife. Things like this don't bother me very much because of all the crazy things I've already seen in my 65 years but it upset me that my wife couldn't breathe and had to pull off the freeway and use a breather which is something she only has to do about once every 6 months or so. So, I drove south to our Destination from there.
