Depopulation Theory?

 Here is the problem:
You can buy a robot for 20 to 25 thousand dollars. You can then hold that robot's hand and make it do exactly what you want. Once it does what you want it can do that same thing 24 hours a day for 3 years. This costs about 3.50 dollars an hour to do and then that robot wears out after 3 years and you buy another one. Since this is less expensive than hiring a person most places on earth people won't get hired robots will. Self driving cars and trucks will replace taxi drivers, limo drivers and truck drivers. etc. etc. etc. worldwide.

So, what do world governments do with the 61/2 billion people who aren't rich who might work in these factories and driving all these vehicles?

One solution would be you would find ways for these people to meet with an accident.

You think I'm kidding about this?

We are entering a time when we are going through a change much greater than from farming to the industrial revolution with no jobs for most people because of robots. This is not only true of blue collar workers but also for white collar workers as well.

How is the world going to solve this problem? I think we all need to think about this hard and long. Otherwise the solution will be some kind of mass extermination when most people don't have jobs to feed themselves. This is an incredible problem coming in the next 25 years here on earth.

The solution is up to each one of us now.

If we solve it it might be workable. If governments solve it people are going to die. It is inevitable. Let's all find a solution together that can work for the world.

One book that actually addresses this problem is:

My thought is that if a world wide system is developed so people don't have to die from a lack of jobs and food from not having any money, robots could benefit everyone. But, if some system isn't put in place before most jobs are taken away from 3/4 or more of the world the results won't be pretty for anyone on earth.
