some 5,000 Syrians flee their country every day, the UNHCR says.

So, far 2 million people have fled Syria to prevent their deaths or torture or worse. If an average of 5000 people a day is leaving Syria now realistically this means 150,000 people a month are leaving Syria at present or 900,000 every 6 months now if present rates continue unabated.

I think the refugee problem is now becoming so serious it is one of the reasons Obama must do something. Otherwise, the whole middle east will be swamped by Syrian Refugees which are because of their needs as refugees beginning to be a problem for countries like Jordan because there are only 6 million Jordanians and even Lebanon is having difficulty now. Turkey is likely a big enough country wealth wise for it not to be as big a problem as it is for Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Israel in taking in refugees. Also, refugees are going in by boat through Greece and Italy both legally and illegally and through there mostly illegally to other countries in Europe to find work for cash to stay alive. I checked the population of Jordan and it is now around 6.5 million or more today.
