How the constructive Use of Anger has helped give me a great life

Anger is a very powerful tool but most people just don't understand how to use it effectively.

Most people are afraid of anger because they have seen what uncontrolled anger can do. However, this means these people are cowards. They are cowards because anger is one of the most effective tools we ever have as humans to have a good life.

For example, when I didn't have the courage to ask "The girl of my dreams" out I got very angry at myself for not having the courage to do this. Eventually, my self directed anger got me to the place where I said to myself, "Look. Here she is, if you ask her out the worst she can say is no. But, if you don't have the courage to ask her out then you will blame yourself the rest of your life.

So, this allowed me to start dating girls at age 15. She wasn't "the only girl of my dreams" but I was too young to know that then. I had to grow up meeting many women along the way until I married and had a son at age 26.

But, if I hadn't had the courage to ask "The first girl of my dreams out" none of this could have ever happened and my life would have been much less meaningful.

Next, I starting working at jobs for other people when I was 10 and got a Newspaper route where I delivered the Glendale New Press on my bicycle to about 150 people then in Glendale California in 1958. But by the time I was 21 I felt I had been abused by enough employers and ripped off financially and emotionally by enough people in working for them. So, I knew I wanted to eventually own my own business or businesses which I eventually did. But, it was only in being very angry at the way I had been treated and taken advantage of by employers growing up that I got to this place of realizing I wanted to work for myself instead of for others. I wanted the profits of my labor to go to me and my family rather than be a slave to others the rest of my life. This anger made me successful in ways I could not have ever imagined as a child or even in my 20s. So, compassion for myself and ohters combined with healthy anger properly utilized in constructive ways brought to me a life worth living and now allows me to mentor and to help others. So, learning how to access your anger in constructive ways is one of the keys to success all around the world.
