So, they don't have to take pain killers just to be alive and happy. Though it greatly reduces your choices at restaurants and you can no longer eat regular bread or pizza crusts often Whole Foods and more and more supermarkets have gluten free bread made from mostly rice flour and garbanzo flour and other non-gluten flours. But, what would you pay not to have almost any pain at all if you are above 40 or 50? Also, I discovered I had always been allergic to gluten most of my life. Or I got gluten allergic from getting giardia from 3rd world travel to places like Mexico, Nepal, India in the 1980s. Also, my daughter traveled to Guatemala, Mexico, Belize at around 20 also and now is allergic to gluten as well likely because of giardia. So, if you were in the Peace core almost anywhere you likely should be gluten free now too so just so you don't develop a hypothyroid condition (like I did) or eventually get an auto-immune disease(luckily my daughter and I haven't got one of those because of giving up gluten in time. Lupus and other auto-immune diseases often come from having had giardia years before and not having given up gluten in time not to get an Auto-immune disease.
