Yesterday, Saturday was graduation day from her Private Prep School for my youngest Daughter. She graduated even though we made a mistake as parents and had her wisdom teeth out a few months ago. Because she is very smart but also dyslexic and needs more time to accomplish her studies having her wisdom teeth out was a mistake on our part. The Dentist said she needed to right then but actually she likely could have waited until June for that so she was 3 to 4 weeks behind in her homework and has been struggling to catch up every since I think about March. Her wisdom teeth sockets on one side got infected so the recovery was about 3 to 4 weeks instead of 1 or two and she needed to take medicine and pain killers during this time and was sort of dysfunctional for quite a while getting her sockets healed up properly from getting 4 wisdom teeth out all at once. She didn't like the (Chipmunk effect) of swollen cheeks for so long either.
But, yesterday, she had finally caught up and was graduating with her class. When we came home she was completely exhausted waiting for us to finish at a restaurant last night but she was very patient with her other two sisters there for the graduation and one of their husbands and a friend who had come up from Santa Barbara for the graduation too.
I'm really relieved that is over because in the next couple of days my son's son (I'll be a new grandfather) will be born.
Then next month my wife is going to have knee replacement surgery and when that happens and she can walk without crutches or a wheelchair again we can both fly to see my son's new son in person thousands of miles away.
And in the fall our daughter who just graduated high school will be going away to college. My wife and all the mother's of my daughters friends are pretty torn up from their daughters leaving and all going away to college. But, the other way to look at this is they all made it into good colleges and might have a good future now because of it.
