ISIL's Threat to destroy most Sacred Shia sites in Najaf and Karbala

If we were to imagine this in a Christian context it would be like protestants saying, "We are now going to die trying to blow up the Vatican and everything Catholic in Rome. And, 1 billion Catholics would rally to defend the Vatican from around the world. The same is true of all Shias from Iran, Iraq and Syria coming to defend their most holy sites from ISIL. Here is a quote from the latest Time Magazine that says it all:

"-----a spokesman for the group (ISIL) issued a statement taunting it's shaken enemies. Ridiculing Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri-al-Maliki as an "underwear merchant," he warned that his fighters, who follow a radical strain of Sunni Islam, would take revenge against al-Maliki's regime, which is dominated by Shi'ites. But this vengance would not come through the capture of Baghdad, the spokesman vowed. It would come through the subjugation of Najaf and Karbala, cities that are home to some of the most sacred Shi'ite shrines. The Sunni fighters of ISIS(ISIL) would cheerfully kill and die, if necessary, to erase their blasphemous existence."

end quote from top of page 30 of the latest Time Magazine with "The end of Iraq" on the cover.

This just like if someone destroyed the Vatican in Rome is setting off a firestorm of fervor not seen anytime recently in regard to Shias defending the historical remains in Mosques of their religion. So, we are going to see Shias coming from literally all over the world to defend Najaf and Karbala, and conversely we are going to see the most extreme Sunnis with the most hatred for the Shia sect coming to blow up both areas as well as the mosques.

This is likely to be "Biblical" in a variety of ways not seen this century in the Middle East. "Biblical" in the sense of thousands to millions of deaths. And Biblical in the sense of $5 to $10 a gallon Gasoline even in the U.S. with possibly $20 a gallon Gasoline or more in the rest of the world.

Get out your solar panels and wind generators! It's going to be  rough one!

Put your solar panels on the roof and charge your  Plug in Prius(or whatever hybrid or electric) and then drive to work for free!

The potential we are seeing here for mayhem has not been matched except during the:
Arab Opec Oil Embargo of 1973:

I remember Gasoline prices going from about 17 cents a gallon to about 85 cents a gallon and then gyrating all over the place during that one. Just figure out the ratios!

I was 25 in 1973 so I remember clearly waiting hours in line watching fist fights between people cutting in line who were late to work. People would pull out tire irons and go at each other they were so mad at all this.
OK. Imagine gas costing 4 times as much as it does now! That's what happened in 1973.
Then imagine having to wait 4 hours for paying $16 dollars per gallon for regular.

This could affect all nations on earth very adversely so this might set off another World War II type of scenario over fuel.

By the way, I'm not saying all this absolutely will happen, what I am saying is the potential for this level of mayhem is already there in action.
