ce: TOKYO, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Some 57 people were injured and about 10 houses collapsed after a strong quake hit Nagano Prefecture in central Japan late Saturday, reports cited local authorities as saying Sunday.
Injuries were reported in Nagano City and Hakuba village, where more than 80 people spent the night in an evacuation shelter, following the 6.7-magnitude quake that hit the region at 10:08 p.m. Saturday (1308 GMT).
The quake was revised down to 6.7-magnitude from 6.8-magnitude, according to the Japan's Meteorological Agency.
No damage has yet been reported at a nearby nuclear power plant in Niigata Prefecture, according to its operator.
Around 10 homes collapsed in Hakuba, roughly 280 km northwest of Tokyo, Japan's Kyodo News cited the Nagano prefectural government as reporting.
More than 100 houses in Hakuba were left without water supplies, prompting the village to ask for water tank trucks, said the report.
Local authorities were still assessing the damage and injuries in the prefecture, which hosted the 1998 Winter Olympics.
The meteorological agency also warned of possible strong aftershocks in the coming week.
