This movie is pretty amazing in that it is almost like it was written for today. However, the real time it was written for was just after the Balkan war during the Clinton Administration.
The main reason Russia didn't get involved in the Balkan War is because the Soviet Union had collapsed and Russia was regrouping with Yeltsin and later Putin.
It is a real roller coaster ride from beginning to end and stars George Clooney and Nicole Kidman. I watched it today on Amazon Prime. It was free if you are a member there now.
