We rented a Mustang convertible for a day and went to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. I bought a (over 62 you can do this in the U.S.) a $10 senior card so you can go to all National Parks and places like this in the 50 states for the rest of your life if you are over 62.
If you go to the Red Rock visitors center you can take the scenic drive which is a one way drive out through this beautiful desert National Conservation Area. Often you might see motorcyclists, bicyclists and joggers along the way with amazing sites all the way. Other people there are rock climbing the places that are legal to climb or hiking trails throughout the area. However, just remember in June and after during the summers over 100 degree Fahrenheit temperatures are relatively normal and you are in a desert. Today it was about 55 or 60 Degrees Fahrenheit once you get up to about 3500 feet elevation around where this National Conservation Area is. I had originally intended to go to Mt. Charleston where I had visited with my son 3 or more years ago when we visited Death Valley National Park, Area 51, Mt. Charleston and wound up at Mandalay Bay Hotel on the strip in Las Vegas in an amazing room with 2 bedrooms two bathrooms, a kitchen, and multiple flat screens with a 10th or 11th floor room with views of Planes taking off and landing at the Main Airport here in Las Vegas.
