Lisinopril

Lisinopril is a synthetic patented drug that I have always had pretty good experiences with. It helped save my life when I had a heart virus I almost died of which caused me to retire in 1998 and 1999. And the only really negative experience was around 2003 or so when I hadn't used it in a couple of years since I had gotten over my heart virus and my heart specialist put me on the wrong dose (too high) and so I was left basically dysfunctional laying on my back in my hallway at home unable to speak for up to 5 hours time.

But, other than that Lisinopril has generally been very helpful to me in my life. But, one of the potential side affects is a dry cough that sometimes can mimic Walking pneumonia. So, my emergency room doctor about 1 or 2 am last night(Thursday) recommended I leave lisinopril and go instead wtih Losarten which I have now for 30 days to see if this might be the source of the bad cough I have been experiencing for several weeks now.

He put me on 25mg os Losarten every 12 hours. I had been on 20mg of lisiopril every 12 hours instead. The pharmacist said that an equal dose of losarten to lisinopril would be about 50 mg of Losarten. So, I was being underdosed to make sure I didn't have a negative reaction to the new synthetic losarten at only 25mg every 12 hours.
