I think the collapse of country after country is primarily resource driven

The primary cause right now driving the collapse of countries is likely two things:
1. the lack of jobs paying a fair wage available to the average person in those countries and because of this:
2. the lack of the ability of young people in those countries to marry before they are over 40 and for having kids this is likely too late at this point.

So, you find young women staying with their parents in these Muslim countries (because dating isn't allowed and young men often becoming criminals or terrorists because they are well paid even if they die young. Also, these types of careers often allow these young men to have sex with women who become their slaves and still to have kids (even if they don't raise them themselves because they are dead from fighting.

So, young men die young and the young women originally they wanted to marry become sad or given to an old man they don't want to marry. So, in this sense the whole culture loses a generation. This I believe is at the core of collapsing nations in the middle east.

And this whole thing tends to become a vicious downward circle gobbling up whole nations in it's wake so far. And millions in the wake of all this are left, dead, maimed, homeless and as the walking wounded and likely incapable of a normal life anywhere after the harm they have suffered.

So, most of these will not have a normal life because the only one they knew is gone and often they are not adaptable to a new lifestyle and world view.
