This is a pretty amazing movie and you get the feeling that this was more the way things really were in 1854 in Nebraska then. However, this is not a happy movie so if you are going to watch it it likely will blow your mind in various ways and you might get the feeling that this sort of thing happened a lot then when mail order brides were sent to the frontier from more civilized places further east then and went nuts there because they weren't used to a life that harsh and difficult.
This however, is a really amazing movie with cameos by James Spader, and Meryl Streep and others.
I was able to rent it for $4.99 at Amazon Prime and watch it through my Roku on my living room Flatscreen.
