Inquiry Weighs Whether ISIS Analysis Was Distorted...
The reason would mainly be that ISIS is a world wide movement and not a regular type of foe. Also, if American troops were sent into battle on the ground against ISIS (this would be exactly what ISIS wants more than any single thing on earth right now).
So, giving them this propaganda victory likely would increase ISIS soldiers ten fold or more from the 1.1 billion Sunnis around the world.
So, the U.S. and Europe and the rest of the world need to be very careful about this.
This all started because of all the Sunnis in Syria being massacred. There are now around 12 to 15 million refugees that are both Sunni (Running from Assad and Iran and Hezbollah) and Shias (running from ISIS) right now in the Middle East or crossing in leaky boats across the Mediterranean Ocean (or any way they can from certain death or maiming.)
I was watching the news yesterday and they were showing a 17 year old boy who refused to help ISIS when he was captured by them. They cut off his hand and his foot because he wouldn't join them. This or death is common to ISIS for anyone they capture who is Muslim.
So, many ISIS fighters (especially between ages 9 and 17) are not fighting for any other reason than they don't want hands and feet cut off.
When you have an enemy this (prehistoric and barbaric in nature), you aren't dealing with anything normal in any way, shape or form.
This isn't like any enemy the U.S. has fought in the last 200 years. So, the way we win this war is going to be very different than any other.
This war is likely to be even tougher to win than the Cold War was in many different ways over the next 25 to 50 years.
But, I don't think the average citizen in the Western World fully understands this yet.
