Natural selection is at work among all species today

Whether we look at humans or any other species on the planet natural selection is at work among all of us.

People might say, "Only the strong survive."

But, my point of view would be: "The strongest, the smartest, and the most adaptable, and those who are capable of moving to other areas better suited to them will survive."

So, the likeliest to survive then would be the birds who are capable of flying to wherever the climate, water and temperatures suits them. The next in line in this are humans who are also capable of flying to wherever the climate, water and temperatures suit them. And so on.

However, what species cannot move fast enough?

Fish in lakes that are warming up to fast. Plants and trees that are stuck wherever they are in droughts around the world where whole local species are going extinct.

So, we have birds and mankind who can fly or move to another location with better water, food and weather (and some other species) and we have plants and trees who cannot move (without human help or traveling as seeds in the bellies of birds or other animals to new locations where they can be potentially planted through those beings feces.

And the other interesting thing to me is even though in the past survival of the fittest meant only the strongest and toughest survived, today intelligence and common sense is even more important in all species than it ever was before.

Because now, we are in the 6th great extinction cycle here on earth known about. So, only the most intelligent and genetically strong species are going to survive this in the end.
