U.S. legal penalty for shooting down a drone if you are caught doing this

So, can I shoot down a drone?

The answer is probably not. For one thing, the Federal Aviation Administration considers a drone to be a civil aircraft, and there’s a law that makes it a federal crime to destroy an aircraft. The penalty is pretty steep, too — up to 20 years in the slammer.

end quote from:

Is it legal to shoot down that invasive drone?

However, remember this law was made to stop people from shooting down planes with people in them. Over time these laws are going to change to what is actually useful hopefully regarding unmanned and potentially armed with a gun or camera drones.

That brings up another point. Do people have the right while you are sleeping or sunbathing naked in your back yard to come up in a drone and take pictures of you in the privacy of your own yard or through your bedroom window? This likely would depend in what state and county you are in nationwide and would be also different likely in every country on earth.

Because this likely would be big business for private investigators all over the earth regarding divorce and custody issues worldwide. Also, famous people would be caught naked all sorts of places by drones. And what is the legality regarding all this worldwide?
