Why is this true?
Because it keeps people with catastrophic health issues from dying or going bankrupt and taking their families to death or ruin. And the average person in the U.S. sees this and agrees people shouldn't have to either go bankrupt or die if they get a catastrophic illness or accident.
Obamacare might not resemble itself 20 years from now just like Social Security doesn't resemble at all what it once was in the 1930s when first instituted. But, people will keep Obamacare alive in some form because it is needed and people have now come to rely upon it for their physical survival nationwide.
Yes. There will always be the detractors. But, for the most part these people don't need Obamacare because they are rich and don't care whether the poor and middle Class survive at all. This is just reality here in the U.S.
And so people who say things like: "We are going to repeal Obamacare are basically foolish at this point.
Because if you give someone a dollar and then you say, "I want that dollar back". Are they going to give you that dollar back?
Maybe no.
People have gotten used to the benefits of Obamacare and likely will fight tooth and nail to keep those benefits. And anyone who has been helped by Obamacare will fight legally and monetarily and whatever way possible for this right too, especially if Obamacare has already prevented the death of a friend or relative of theirs. And this doesn't matter whether these people are Republican or Democrat.
So, people who say, "We will repeal Obamacare are foolish in their thinking." They might change Obamacare but they will never be able to repeal it now. People will come out in the millions to prevent the end of Obamacare now if they or a relative have been helped by it in any way.
